Nordic Oil is now ISO 22000:2018 certified, but what does this mean? And how could it affect your experience with Nordic Oil? Read on to find out.
The importance of food safety
When it comes to selling products designed to be consumed, food safety is of the utmost importance. Customers have the right to know what is in the product, and that they are not only beneficial, but safe too. This is where food safety standards come into play.
ISO 22000 is an independent food safety standard that helps companies identify and control food safety hazards. It’s an international standard that ensures that organizations are able to identify and tackle risks related to food safety. It covers all the processes in the food chain that impact the safety of the end product and specifies the requirements for a comprehensive food safety management system.
When a company is ISO 22000 certified, it means that it has been checked and approved by an independent Food Safety Authority and that its products are appropriately safe and regulated.
ISO 22000:2018 is simply the latest iteration of the certification, with the latest modifications having come in 2018 and focussing particularly on additional clarity and comprehension.
